My Natural Skincare Routine at 35: Inside-Out Beauty With Plants

✨ My Natural Approach to Skin at 35

I’m turning 35 in a couple of weeks, and yes—the signs of aging are starting to show. Instead of resisting them, I’m choosing a natural approach that focuses on clear, glowing skin and overall health.

My skincare routine is extremely simple:

  • I wash with water.

  • I use an organic oil at night (I love Primally Pure or small handmade brands I find in little shops).

  • When I’m in the sun, I stick to a basic zinc sunscreen with minimal ingredients.

  • I rarely wear makeup, but when I do, I choose very clean, natural brands—like W3LL People.

But here’s what I’ve learned: good skin is made from the inside out.

🌿 Why Skin Health Starts Within

Our skin is the body’s largest organ and one of its main detox pathways. If your body needs to release something, your skin will often show it—whether through dullness, breakouts, or dryness.

That’s why I focus on clean eating, regular detox practices, and nutrient-dense superfoods as the foundation of my beauty routine.

💧 Why Collagen Matters for Skin

Our skin has three main layers:

  • Epidermis: outer barrier

  • Dermis: where collagen and elastin live

  • Hypodermis: deepest layer, connective tissue and fat

Collagen provides structure and firmness, elastin gives skin bounce and flexibility, and hyaluronic acid helps retain hydration and plumpness.

As we age:

  • Collagen production slows

  • Elastin fibers weaken

  • Hydration declines

This leads to fine lines, dryness, and sagging. Supporting these pathways from the inside out helps skin stay smooth, firm, and radiant for longer.

🐟 The Collagen Craze

Most collagen powders are made from cow or fish bones. While some people see benefits, others find them harder to digest. There are also questions around sourcing, purity, and the fillers often added to these blends.

So I asked myself: is there a better way?

🌸 My Plant-Based Discovery

Through research, I discovered that certain plants can help protect existing collagen and support the body’s own production. That was a game-changer for me.

Here are a few of my favorites:

  • Tremella Mushroom → nature’s hyaluronic acid for deep hydration

  • Tocos (rice bran) → rich in antioxidants + vitamin E to protect collagen

  • Bamboo → one of the richest natural sources of silica for collagen formation

  • Aloe Vera → supports hydration and elasticity

This exciting discovery inspired our newest mix: Collagen Support.
